The Mitutoyo ABSOLUTE Digimatic Caliper Series 500 is a standard-duty digital caliper built on Mitutoyo’s proprietary ABSOLUTE electromagnetic induction linear encoder, delivering dependable measurement accuracy for general shop and quality control use.
The ABSOLUTE system eliminates the need to reset the origin after switching the unit on or off, reducing operator error and preventing overspeed misreads. An incremental measurement function allows the display to be zero-set at any position, making comparative dimensional checks fast and straightforward. A low-voltage alert warns of a depleting battery well before it becomes unusable, with an average battery life of approximately 5 years under normal use.
Available in ranges from 0-100mm up to 0-300mm, with resolution as fine as 0.0005 in / 0.01mm and accuracy up to ±0.001 in / ±0.02mm. Select models include carbide-tipped jaws for O.D. and I.D. measurement, a thumb roller for smooth one-handed operation, and a Digimatic output port for SPC data connectivity. An optional data hold unit is available to lock the displayed reading on demand.
